Behind The Tasty Cinema: Two filmmakers, 30 years, countless journeys…
“We are Christian and Eva, a filmmaking duo that has spent many years capturing the beauty of our planet. From deserts to rainforests, from mountain peaks to the ocean depths, we’ve told stories of nature, culture, and life. Today, we turn that same cinematic lens toward food — transforming simple ingredients into visual poetry.”
The Directors’ Cut: Christian & Eva
Christian: The Eye & The Investigator I’ve spent over 30 years behind the lens, chasing stories across snowbound peaks, hidden rainforests, and silent deserts. In my time directing documentaries and commercials—working alongside extraordinary artists like Kate Winslet—I learned one truth: the most profound stories aren't told in words, but in the textures of a culture.
Cooking has always been my parallel craft. Since my teens, the kitchen has been my refuge—a place where patience and precision mirror the art of filmmaking. Today, I use my camera not just to record a recipe, but to investigate it. At The Tasty Cinema, I treat every dish like a cinematic mystery, applying the same depth and visual beauty to a single onion as I would to a feature film.
Eva: The Heart & The Architect A film is only as strong as the hands that hold it together. Eva, my wife and long-time line producer, is the beating heart of this project. She transforms our shared vision into reality, navigating the complex logistics of our weekly productions with the same discipline we honed on international documentary sets. On the "stage," she is my second pair of hands—steady, intuitive, and precise—ensuring that the food we film is treated with the reverence of a protagonist.
Our Mission: The Poetry of the Pan We don’t pull recipes from cookbooks; we exhume them from history. These are memories collected from tables around the world, passed down like heirlooms. Every film we produce is a slow, deliberate undertaking—an investigation into a dish’s ancestry, a hunt for authentic ingredients, and a cinematic tribute to the human hands that shaped them.
In a world that demands everything "fast," we choose to slow down. We invite you to do the same. Don’t just follow the recipe—follow the history.

“The Tasty Cinema is the natural continuation of our filmmaking journey — a new stage where food becomes the landscape, and the kitchen the wilderness. Together, we bring the artistry of documentary filmmaking into every dish.”
“We will always be deeply grateful for the assignments that took us to remote places, where we experienced breathtaking Nature, met remarkable tribes and friends from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and traditions…”
